My Desire for Heaven

As a Christian, I have heard many views of heaven from many different believers. I have heard that it is all-consumed with the glory of God. I have heard we reside in his presence forever. I have heard it overflows with the love of Jesus. I have heard we get to do things there that bring him glory. I have heard we get to experience the most perfect of happiness, holiness, and purity. I have heard that heaven is everything you could ever want that is not sinful. I have my own desire of God when I face him after this life. I would request that I get to spend eternity exploring his creation. I view that God created an infinite existence, just as He himself is infinite. I want to go from world upon world and experience culture upon culture, with countless places to see, people to meet, and games to play. I want to be able to explore the depth of knowledge and history that each world and culture holds. I want to study the different life of these countless worlds, see the different terrain s

The information Universe

The universe is made up of many forms of information, and the conscious beings within it are the receivers of this information. The information human beings in particular receive helps program our brains to understand reality in a particular way. Ideas are a form of information, as are the keys I am typing with and the table I am sitting at. The table is substantial information, i.e. information that has concrete substance that you can touch, see, hear, taste, and smell. Pretty much anything you can encounter with your senses is substantial information. Now ideas are information that is not substantial. You can't detect them with your senses, yet they still exist. They are abstract. They only exist verbally and in systems that they are utilized in. They can have substantial images or things represent them, but you can't measure concepts like freedom as concrete substance. Now information is how a brain is programmed and educated to understand the world from a particular worldvi

The human Imagination

Imagination is the ability to create things in your mind using the ideas, images, and sounds you have already encountered in your experience as a human being. We don't know if other creatures of the earth have the ability to imagine, and many of us do not have as vivid or in-depth of an imagination as others. We all have it to a point. We picture ourselves as the things we've always wanted to be, like a soldier or movie star or starting athlete. This is one of the utilities of the imagination. It allows us to see what we want and do not have. It also allows us to construct and develop objects and ideas that are not substantial, i.e. they don't exist in reality. Some may one day be substantial, but many of what we imagine are abstract ideas. We try to picture in our imagination what it would be like to be truly free. We try to picture in our minds the places we've never been. We try to wrap our heads around the unfathomable vastness of space, and we try to picture the ma

Deception, a Short Discussion

If someone believes a lie that is beneficial to your agenda, why tell them the truth? Sometimes delusions are advantageous to the people who foster them and stand to lose something if the deception is discovered. From my experience, every human being has had delusions or lived under false pretenses at some points in their lives and many still live highly functional lives while believing in total nonsense. Im not talking about religion either. Religion is different. There is a nature about faith that destinguishes it from delusion, and that is the complete inability of people to invalidate it entirely, as well as its socially, culturally, and psychologically beneficial nature to the people who have it. The truth is not always in the eye of the beholder, but your perspective on the truth is. Truth is what actually exists, a lie may exist as a lie, but it is based on something that does not. There are many truths that we cannot see or have not encountered that are waiting to be discovered

Cultural Psychology

The psychology of culture is a developing and often fascinating subject within the field of psychology. It encompasses people and groups across the globe and how culture influences behavior, cognition, and the mind. Culture can be defined as the activities individuals within the society and the society as a collective partake in, as well as the entertainment we indulge in, the myths and legends that we are introduced to as members of this society, and the festivals and traditions that give people's lives purpose and enliven the daily experience of life for the individuals of the society. In cultural psychology, there is something called mutual constitution that states how individuals and the society as a collective mutually impact one another and alter the culture of the group. Individuals may have different interests that they partake in that may influence other individuals to change their cultural behavior and take an interest in a different theme or activity within that culture.

The Tempter or The Tempted, The Deceiver or the Deceived

Who is held to more accountability? If someone is tempted to do something and they do it, are they any more liable for their actions than the thing that tempted them. Just like is someone really responsible for their actions if they are under a spell of deception put upon them by an external agency. It is a moral quandary for me and my faith. I have heard that all it takes is one sin to cause you to enter into eternal damnation for all eternity. I have difficulty with this, as many people are deceived into thinking that it is ok to commit some sins and they are led astray by certain people and certain ideas. I personally think the tempter is more at fault than those who fall into temptation, as had the tempter not tempted the person, the person would never have fallen into temptation. At the same time, I think the deceiver should be held in greater accountability than the deceived, because the deceived person would not have committed the act that he did in regards to the deception had

Careers in Writing, Politics, and Plans for the near Future.

I am trying to pursue I career in writing, which should be obvious by this point!! So I am going to write about my desire to pursue a career in writing. I was thinking at some point to be an editor, although I am not 100% sure what an editor exactly does. I could go into journalism, but I don't have the academic credentials or achievements that appeal to employers in that field. I would love to write more research papers, but I need to be in school to do that and I can't afford it right now. I think that if I remain diligent and dedicated in my writing, something will open up, as long as I am honest and truthful with people. My faith requires that I am. I probably should clean up my language a little bit if I am going to write about spiritual and religious subjects, but also because it is highly unprofessional to use the kind of language I occasionally use. If I am going to be a good writer, and a successful one, I am going to have to narrow down my focus a little bit, and deve

Religious Warfare In the Contemporary era.

Religious Wars, gods, God, or belief systems in general have been the primary cause of many wars since the dawn of civilization. Homer wrote about how the gods took sides in the Trojan War. Islam was primarily spread through warfare throughout the middle east, north Africa, and parts of Europe after Mohammed passed on. The Catholic church ordered crusades, the goal of which was to retake the holy land from Muslims and create a christian order there. Many lives have been lost because of religious conflict. There is a reason for it, and this is coming from a christian perspective. The reason for these conflicts is because of deception. A force is deceiving people into believing that it is ok to kill in the name of God. The reason for conflicts like this is the dichotomy of good and evil. There are usually two sides to a conflict, and even if there are not two sides, it eventually boils down to two factions. I have talked about the dichotomy of conflict. Now I am going to talk about the r

Working at a Gas Station

I have done a lot of different jobs in my life. I've worked basic labor positions. I have worked mundane and boring jobs. I have done food service. I have done a lot of different things. Because of how much I have struggled, I have had a really hard time holding down a job. Either I am sleeping way too much or hardly at all. I have had a very difficult time focusing as well. I remember one time I was working with one of my friend's dad doing salvage work, trying to gather up metals to sell to a market that recycles junk metal, and there was a car in the junk yard we were working at and the tires were flat. This guy had me air up the tires, and I completely spaced off how much air in the tire I need to put in and the tire exploded, knocking me on my ass and disorienting me for a couple seconds. My friend's dad first asked me if I was alright, and then chewed my ass for a good five minutes or so. I definitely deserved it, being that I almost got myself killed. Thank the LORD

The Sire Universe

For starters with this theory, I want to make it clear that this is purely speculative, and there is no possible way we can test this. I just gathered what I know about the universe and how it supposedly formed according to the big bang theory, and how it will supposedly end, according to heat death. The universe, in theory, was once a singularity, or a point in space with infinite density and zero volume, all the matter and energy in the universe was once in a spot that occupied no space. There are other forms of singularities, such as a black hole and possibly the basic building block particle that has mass; it almost occupies no space. Something caused the original singularity to expand into what is now the universe. Now the theory is that as the universe's expansion accelerates, particles slowly begin to move further apart as gravity and other forces no longer have sway because the fabric of space is getting stretched ever thinner. Space itself exists, even if it is empty. Ther

How to address someone with Mental Illness

Step 1. Be careful what words you use. Mentally ill people are human beings first and foremost. If someone doesn't like to be called a particular word, be respectful and use the words that are safer and less triggering. Words are powerful. For example. I don't like the word manic. It has been used as a weapon against me in the past, and it sets me off. I also know what it means in greek, so it is like an insult or slight. Step 2. Don't make a pariah out of the mentally ill. Help us. get us treatment. A pariah is like a mark on us, making us socially deviant and an outcast. In some countries around the world, this action dehumanizes the person to the point where they can be killed without consequence. I watched a video where the Islamic state tossed people off of water towers because of mental illness. Step 3. Don't treat us any differently. We just want to be treated like human beings, not as "crazy people." Step 4. Don't be afraid. Most of us are not d

Why I write what I write.

There is a method to my madness. I don't write without purpose. Everything I try to write has a reason for being written. I feel guided by something much bigger than myself in my thoughts and ideas. I often don't know how I know the information that I write about. A lot of it is a thinking process that I don't fully understand. I may not have a lot of sources for what I say, but I am going to try and do the research to support the ideas, theories, and stories I post on this blog. I am trying to start conversations. That's it. A lot of what I post is also a defense of my sanity, and a defense of my validity as an intellectual. I want people to know I am a capable, intelligent, and spiritual human being who can do great things for people, God, and country. I am trying my best to get stronger, more stable, and more developed as an adult with mental health issues. I write things down because stories and ideas are how you can make an impact on people when you are so financia

Freedom of Speech and Confusion

Freedom of Speech is one of the most important fundamental guarantees of our constitution. However, it has been twisted and abused in contemporary times. People often don't know what they are talking about when they excersize their right to speak their minds. Also, people don't know what TO talk about when they attempt to speak their minds. Many people are under false pretenses when it comes to many major issues our country, almost borderline delusional in their beliefs and views. Freedom of speech is only effective if you know what you are talking about, and you know what to talk about. The confusion that exists in our country today may possibly be at tactic done by an enemy to use one of our guaranteed freedoms against ourselves, confusing us about the reality with fake news and other forms of deception that feed into our delusions about what is actually happening. This enemy, whoever and whatever it may be, is trying to conquer us. It's tactics include psychological and

The rule of Law and the value of Human Life

The Value of Human Life: The most stabilizing forces in a society are the rule of law and the value of human life. The rule of law governs us in order to promote the security and stability necessary to allow for a functioning society, and the value of human life both enhances this quality of the rule of law and also protects those subject to the law from the potential oppression of the makers and enforcers of the law. A society that has a deep-rooted value for human life in t he majority of the population is often more stable and safe than societies without a widespread value of human life. The value of human life can be ingrained through common cultural influences such as movies or music, as well as through social institutions such as churches or schools that teach both kids and adults the value and sanctity of human life. When those that don't value human life are marginalized by the rule of law and those that do value human life are the majority and given

Human Beings as Worlds within a World

A human being's consciousness is an entire world within this world. His or her perception is unique, has its own worldview, and essentially acts like a world itself, because their consciousness has their own unique construct of reality. The reason I take this view is the moral path it leads me down. If I kill a human being, I am not just killing a flesh and blood machine, I am killing an entire world. From a christian moral view, Jesus calls us to love our neighbor as ourself, the second of the two greatest commandments.

Melody Code

This is something similar to what my brothers are working on. I wish them the best of luck! This is an unfinished paper. Melody Code and Encoding Information within Single Numbers, patterns of numbers, Patterns of Beats, Tones, Melodies, and Pitch, as well as Intonation of voice. By Joshua Plovanic             Encoding information and messages within different forms of sound and numbers is often difficult. Some people are advanced enough to actually encode data and information within sounds. I may be one of them, but I haven’t developed the skillset that I need to do so. In this paper I will describe, in theory of course, how it may be possible to encode data in melody and by other means.             First of all, Imagine assigning a meaning to a pitch or melodic note that only those whom you want to get the message. Then you create patterns of pitches, notes, and beats, much like a song, that gets transmitted to the targeted receiver and decoded, si

Psychological Warfare

What a fascinating topic! Something that a lot of people don't understand is the nature of this form of warfare. Psychological Warfare is the strategy of using words, ideas, images, and information, to infiltrate, attack, and conquer someone's mind. A friend of mine once said there are five types of warfare. When he listed them, psychological warfare was not one of them. I think it should be. It is an incredibly potent form of conflict. Hell even kids engage in it when they bully each other, degrading and dehumanizing their targets, sometimes with the intent to get their target to harm themselves. As a christian, I believe there is a strong connection between psychological warfare and the spiritual warfare that is raised all around us between God and his spiritual enemies. Also, both types of conflict occur in the mind. In the Armed Forces, we call this PSYOPS, or hearts and minds, where we try to win popular support for our missions and operations against radical islam and oth

An Endorsement for a Third chamber of Congress

An endorsement for a Third Chamber of Congress By Joshua Drew Plovanic To start this endorsement, I am going to discuss a little game called rock-paper-scissors. As far as I know everyone has played this game at least once in their life. Rock beats scissors, scissors beats paper, and paper beats rock, and so on. It’s a hierarchy that has no clear top. In fact, any of the three could be on top of the hierarchy at any given time. In game theory I believe this is called a nash equilibrium, named after the famous mathematician John Nash. Now, I am going to discuss our nation’s system of checks and balances. It is an equilibrium creator itself by having three branches of government in play with each checking the other two in some way, such as the president’s veto power over congress and his ability to appoint Supreme Court justices, and congress’s power to impeach the president and supreme court justices, and the Supreme Court’s power to determine the constitutionality of action

An attack on National Memory

An Attack on Our National Memory, Our Culture, Our Principles, Our Values, and Our Ideals Joshua Drew Plovanic February 15, 2016             In regards to operations that can be carried out against a nation like our own that includes an attack on our memory and mind, some may think this form of attack is not realistic and improbable. I highly disagree. For one, the spreading of an ideology or belief system that runs counter to the preeminent belief systems within a nation can act as an affront to the mind and collective memory of that nation. For instance, let’s use an old ideology like fascism for an example. Imagine adherents of a fascist belief system gain access to our education system. Common sense would tell you that a national memory, which includes our history, our entertainment and culture, and the significant events of our common experience as Americans, start in our youth and our upbringing as children in this country. As we are educated, the

Lone Wolf Terrorism and its difficult threat to the West

Lone Wolf Terrorism is probably the most difficult form of Terrorism to detect and prevent, as many of these actors are simply inspired by an ideology or radicalized online, with no connection to a particular organization or agency. This is why it is so difficult to prevent. All they have to do is sympathize with a cause and act on its behalf, without any orders or plans from a particular group or organization. This makes their activities difficult to trace and analyze. However, their are many signs that a potential lone wolf operative leaves in his or her wake. They often collect and subscribe to radical belief systems, and they sympathize with the actors in the belief system they subscribe to, though most have never actually met the spearheads of the ideology or belief system. Lone wolf terrorists sometimes are socially outcasted by their peers and community, but not always. They also often belong to the racial, ethnic, and/or religious group that the ideology originated with. There

My Confession to Jesus Christ

To my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I confess to you that I am a sinner, and have fallen short of your glory. I have many faults and corruptions that I know only you can cleanse me of. I am arrogant at times. I have made many mistakes in my life and have even openly blasphemed your name and vehemently criticized your followers. For these sins and faults I am heartily sorry. I confess with My mouth that Jesus is Lord and I dedicate my life to loving my God with all my heart, my soul, my strength, and my mind, and loving my neighbor as myself.

The Abomination (or some other title) Trilogy Synopsis

The Abomination (or some other title) Synopsis The story takes place nearly a century or more after the Middle East collapses into a collection of failed states and the world economy and the world’s political situations quickly destabilize. Sometime after this happens, a significant group of mankind begin to adhere to a neo-fascist or similar ideology that brings to this group of people a horrific idea which leads them to commit “the Abomination.” “The Abomination” is how the rest of humanity refers to the choice of the radicalized group to breed themselves or engineer themselves into a new species that uses the old species as a food source as well as slave labor, taking the concept of the master race to a whole new level. The story of this saga is based around humanity’s effort to undo this ungodly act that has been done and liberate mankind not just from political oppression, but from consumption and commoditization as a product for sustenance and other means. The story follows
