Prologue – The Idea of a Perfect Language From the dawn of thought, humankind has looked upward and inward for a lost perfection of speech —a language unbroken by confusion, uncorrupted by deception, unclouded by ambiguity. Every civilization carries within its myths a memory of that First Tongue , when word and world were one, when speaking and being were the same act. In the Garden, Adam’s naming of the creatures was not an arbitrary classification; it was an act of pure recognition . To name was to reveal essence. Each word vibrated in perfect sympathy with the form it described. In this Edenic order, language was the mirror of creation, and the human tongue reflected the Divine. After the Fall—after Babel—words fragmented, meanings splintered, and the one clear river of speech divided into countless streams.
